How to make Badam Payasam
Ingredients
Almonds blanched and peeled1 cup
Rice soaked3 tablespoons
Full cream milk 1 litre
Green cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
Saffron (kesar) 6-8 sprigs
Sugar 1/2 cup
Almonds slivers for garnishing2 tablespoons
Method
Step 1
Heat milk in a deep non stick pan. Grind rice and almonds coarsely and add to the milk. Cook on medium heat, stirring often.
Step 2
Add green cardamom powder and mix well. Add saffron and mix. Cook till rice is completely cooked and the mixture thickened. Add sugar and stir till it dissolves.
Step 3
Serve hot garnished with almond slivers.
