Badam Payasam Recipe

How to make Badam Payasam

Ingredients

  • Almonds blanched and peeled1 cup

  • Rice soaked3 tablespoons

  • Full cream milk 1 litre

  • Green cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Saffron (kesar) 6-8 sprigs

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Almonds slivers for garnishing2 tablespoons

  • Method

    Step 1

    Heat milk in a deep non stick pan. Grind rice and almonds coarsely and add to the milk. Cook on medium heat, stirring often.

    Step 2

    Add green cardamom powder and mix well. Add saffron and mix. Cook till rice is completely cooked and the mixture thickened. Add sugar and stir till it dissolves.

    Step 3

    Serve hot garnished with almond slivers.
