Bread Aloo Role

Bread Aloo Roll Recipe - Spicy mashed potatoes stuffed in bread slices, rolled and deep fried.


Bread Aloo Roll Recipe

Ingredients

  • Potato boiled and mashed6 medium

  • Bread 8 slices

  • Curry leaves 4-5

  • Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon

  • Onion chopped2 medium

  • Green chilli chopped4-5

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped1/4 cup

  • Oil 2 tablespoons + for deep frying

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

  • Date chutney to serve

  • Method

    Step 1

    Heat two tablespoon oil in a non stick pan.

    Step 2

    Add curry leaves and mustard seeds and saute till the seeds splutter.

    Step 3

    Add onions and saute till translucent

    Step 4

    Add green chillies and saute further for two minutes. Add mashed potatoes and salt and mix well.

    Step 5

    Add coriander leaves and mix well and set it aside. Divide into eight equal portions.

    Step 6

    Meanwhile soak the bread slices in water for few seconds. Remove and squeeze out excess water.

    Step 7

    Stuff the potato mixture in the center of the bread and roll it and then press it tightly. Do the same for the remaining.

    Step 8

    Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep fry the bread roll till golden brown and crisp in color.

    Step 9

    Drain on absorbent paper.

    Step 10

    Serve hot with tomato ketchup and khajur chutney.
